SILVERSWIFT... Introductory Diving
For those who want to experience the reef from a different angle, an introductory scuba dive is the best way. No previous experience is necessary. Onboard instructors take visitors step by step through the lecture, the equipment and the dive, ensuring all facets of the experience are comfortable and most of all enjoyable.

On the outward journey to the Outer Reef, instructors assess the suitability of potential introductory divers and ask those interested to complete the required paperwork. Once completed, the new divers are taught fundamentals of diving as well as the use of equipment. All equipment, including wetsuits and prescription masks (if required) are included in the price of the introductory dive.

Silverswift is 29 metres of luxury catamaran custom-designed for small groups of adventure minded people to revel in the thrill of dive and snorkel adventures at the outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef. Departing daily from Cairns, Silverswift visits three spectacular Outer Great Barrier Reef sites, each chosen for visual and ecological diversity.

08.15 AM: Coaches arrive at Cairns Reef Fleet Terminal, passenger check-in and boarding. Morning tea served until departure.
08.30 AM: Silverswift departs for the Outer Barrier Reef. On the way, detailed certified and introductory dive briefings are given
09.50 AM: Arrive at the first site. Divers gear up, while snorkellers listen to a site briefing by the snorkelling advisor. Get ready to view the beauty of this natural wonder!
11.15 AM: Silverswift departs for second reef location. Option for introductory divers and certified divers to do their second dive. Snorkellers are once again briefed as to the best areas to snorkel.
12:30 PM: After the water activities, enjoy a tropical hot and cold lunch served in the air conditioned cabin. The lunch includes fresh prawns, pasta, meats, salads and fruit. There are bar facilities available where you can purchase drinks.
01:40 PM: Silverswift departs for third reef location. Snorkellers are once again briefed as to the best areas to snorkel. Option for introductory divers and certified divers to do their third dive.
2.15 PM: Afternoon tea is served.
2.45 PM: All passengers to board vessel for count
3.00 PM: Silverswift commences return to Cairns
4:30 PM: Silverswift arrives at Cairns
4:50 PM: Coaches depart for accommodation

ADDITIONAL COSTS:
* EMC: An Environmental Management Charge (EMC) of $5.50 is levied for all adults and children 4 years and over entering the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage area. This is payable direct by passengers to Quicksilver on the day of travel.
• Fuel Surcharge: With fluctuations in world oil prices, it may be necessary to apply a fuel surcharge to your ticket price. In such cases, any charge will be collected on departure.
