GUIDED SNORKEL EXPEDITION ...
Whether you are an experienced snorkeller or a novice, Quicksilver's knowledgeable marine biologists will introduce you to a new and exciting world during a guided snorkel tours. You will be part of a small group, guided by our experienced marine biologists who can reveal so much more about the magnificent marine life of this fragile eco-system.

Note: The snorkel tour lasts for about 45 minutes in the water. Participants must be confident swimmers and some snorkelling experience is recommended.

Quicksilver offers day snorkelling and diving trips, with daily departures from Port Douglas to Agincourt Ribbon reef (Great Barrier Reef) and Low Isles.

Travel by wavepiercer to a reef activity platform situated on the Agincourt ribbon reef system on the edge of Australia’s continental shelf. From here, certified divers can dive at exclusive Agincourt reef sites. This option allows the experienced diver to explore an underwater world teeming with exotic marinelife, while non-diving and snorkelling companions participate in platform activities – including the choice of an introductory dive.

Some of the commonly seen marine life include turtles, anemone fish (Nemo), lion fish, cuttlefish, moray eels and white and black tip reef sharks, barracuda, garden eels, unicornfish, pinnacles, staghorn corals.

YOUR QUICKSILVER DAY:
9.30 am Complimentary morning tea/coffee on boarding. For your safety, hot drinks are not served once the vessel is underway. Passengers are required to be onboard the vessel 15 minutes before departure.
10.00 am Depart Marina Mirage for the Outer Barrier Reef. A Marine Biologist presentation is shown on the vessel monitors 30 minutes after departure. A snorkelling demonstration follows the Marine Biologist presentation.
11.30 am Arrive Outer Barrier Reef- reef activities commence:

  • Enjoy swimming and snorkelling from submerged platforms.
  • Underwater observatory open for coral and fish viewing.
  • Semi-subs depart every fifteen minutes from the rear of the platform.
  • Pre-booked guided snorkel tours, certified and introductory diving and helicopter scenic flights
  • Fish feeding conducted at the snorkelling platform at advertised times.

12 noon Lunch [included] is served. Enjoy a hot and cold tropical buffet, containing fresh prawns, pastas, meats, salads and fruit. There are full bar facilities available where you can purchase drinks.
1.30 pm Lunch finishes. Time for more activity or just relax and take in the view!
3.00 pm Depart Agincourt Reef for Port Douglas. Reef video viewing on board.
4.30 pm Arrival at Marina Mirage, Port Douglas.

ADDITIONAL COSTS
*EMC: An Environmental Management Charge (EMC) of $5.50 is levied for all adults and children 4 years and over entering the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage area. This is payable direct by passengers on the day of travel.

Fuel Surcharge: With fluctuations in world oil prices, it may be necessary to apply a fuel surcharge to your ticket price. In such cases, any charge will be collected on departure.

Return Coach Transfers: Available from Port Douglas, Cairns & Northern Beaches accommodation.
